Wire Transfer

International Wire Transfer To Vietnam

Probably the fastest and easiest way to send money in a hurry. You can send funds either online with a credit card or via a Wire Transfer agent with cash. Two of the largest companies that can send money via Wire Transfer are Money Gram or Western Union, however just do an internet search for "wire transfer" for alternatives. The money is sent via an international money transfer and normally only takes minutes. There are over 1,000s of Agent locations in Vietnam, including Post offices and branches of leading banks. The procedure to pay online and send funds overseas is simple.

How To Send Money Online With Wire Transfer

Log onto the site and follow the instructions to send money by wire transfer. You will normally have to open an account and can add a credit or debit card for your source to transfer money from. You will need to select which country you wish to send funds to and also enter the receipient name - your funds will only be allowed to be collected by this person and ID will be required to be shown at the agent in Vietnam before the money is released to them. when you have processed the payment you will be given a MTCN (money transfer control number) - this will also be emailed to you. This number will need to be provided by the receiver at the wire transfer agent in Vietnam together with ID before the funds will be released. Some wire transfer providers will text the details to the receipient if you provide their mobile number however there may be a charge for this service.

Fund transfers usually only take a few minutes to transfer however, due to anti-money laundering laws, you may receive an email requesting you phone the wire transfer provider in your own country to confirm your details - once verified the funds are released. If you do not phone them within 24 hours the transaction will be cancelled. Once funds are collected by the receiver an email confirming the pick up has occurred will be sent to you.

Only Send Money To Person Known To Yourself

By sending money via a wire transfer once the money is sent there is no recourse to request a refund. Therefore most wire transfer providers strongly advise that you only send money to a person that is known to yourself. They do not recommend that money is sent for goods or services (including betting) as once the money is collected by the receipient they are unable to refund the money. You should be wary of any services which request money to be sent via a wire transfer as these can be scams carefully designed to extract money from yourself without the scammer being traced.

Advantages:
  • Very quick - usually funds are transferred within minutes
  • The exact amount sent to the receiver is know prior to proceeding with transfer
  • Transfers can be carried out online anywhere in the world
  • You will receive emailed confirmation of the pick up
  • Receiver will be paid cash in Vietnamese Dong
  • Receiver does not need a bank account to receive funds
Disadvantages:
  • Can be costly - fees are dependant on the amount sent
  • You may be required to phone the provider to confirm your details
  • Once funds are sent then there is no recourse to request a refund
